Full size Burroughes and Watts billiards table
This table was situated in a large country hall in North Lincolnshire which was requisitioned by the war department during the second world war.
After the war the hall fell into disrepair and was finally demolished.
The billiards table along with a few choice items of furniture were salvaged and stored in an old stable block attached to another property that the family owned and left there for many years in damp conditions.
However, we were contacted by the owners regarding full renovation of the billiards table which was made by Burroughes and Watts circa 1880 and as you can see from the photo’s it was in a very sorry state, including the lovely revolving cue stand.
After many hours of work the table and the cue stand were fully restored and installed in the owner’s snooker room which had been created from another of the old outbuildings.

Bagatelle table by J. Ashcroft and Son, Liverpool
This table was brought to our workshops supposedly to be recovered with new wool cloth but when it arrived as you can see from the photos the owner must have been wearing rose coloured spectacles.
However it was a challenge, after being left in a damp outbuilding for many years.
After a full renovation we delivered and installed the table in the owner’s hotel; the Bawn Lodge in Chester where it is in constant use by visitors and the team who play in the Chester and District bagatelle league.
